No Stock in Gramedia Taman Anggrek

Just back from my travels...
Here are my pictures with real Sakura in Korea (HAHAHA)... Then, I went to Kuching, Serawak for a weekend break. Funnily, last week, less than 12 hours from my arrival at Changi, my office asked me to go to Jakarta. So on Tues-Sun 27 May, I was in Indonesia. 3 days are for business trip and less than 40 hours for my family at Yogyakarta. It's very tiring...

In Jakarta, my friend drove me to nearest Gramedia she knew, unfortunately Gramedia in Gadjah Mada was closed (we reached there around 9pm). So she brought me to Taman Anggrek, and again, NO STOCK.

No STOCK again! Can't pose with my own novel @ bookstores!

I haven't had time to visit 2 Gramedia stores in Jogja as I am still very exhausted. What I did at home was eating, talking, playing with my lil sis and of course ZZZZZ sleeping =P

Sastra Asing (Foreign Literature)

Surprise, surprise. Mr Harry has just e-mailed me about my novel in Indonesia: Gramedia Matraman Jakarta and Gunung Agung Kwitang Jakarta. While for Gramedia Bogor, no pictures taken, maybe next time hehehe.

FYI, Sakura is really catalogued into Foreign Literature! (They must be wrong! It is a pure writing of a young Indonesian global writer!)

I'm testing Lulu.com for publishing Sakura Bersemi di Yokohama in the US. If it works, I will buy a new ISBN to publish it worldwide so that semua orang yang ngerti Bahasa Indo bisa menikmati karya saya *hahaha*

This international version has 228 pages, 6" x 9", perfect binding, 60# cream interior paper, black and white interior ink , 100# white exterior paper, full-color exterior ink. Different font types inside - I hope my choices of fonts would facilitate readers' imagination...

Content wise, all typos (hopefully I don't miss anything) have been amended. And there is one page of selected reviews (Pantene, Pak Harry's review in Riau Pos, Mbak Nunik's in Batam Pos, Mbak Illydea's in RSI Malay) and Dr Dede's congratulatory comment. My author's profile is on the final page (coz there is no flap cover this time around).

PS: The blank space on the bottom right of the back cover is for the new ISBN later on (hopefully).

The 6th Copy in National Library

I have asked NLB to take some action on the faulty copy in Jurong Regional Library. I checked the NLB catalogue and surprise, surprise, there are 6 books of Sakura Bersemi di Yokohama - and not 5 that I have been sent to them!!!

Dari mana buku ke-6 nyampe NLB ya? *wondering who gave the 6th copy to the library, Jurong West, compared against September's NLB catalogue*

Hmmm, is my book getting enough publicity? I really have no idea about its sales in Indonesia. I need to contact my publisher. But based on my googling once-in-a-while, there are more bookstores carrying my book *_*

Halo, halo
Been a long time never update this blog. Mr Harry is right, I've been busy at work and writing new novels (kalau terbit, ntar aku bikin blog khusus buat cerita soal each novel), baru tadi pagi dikurir ke penerbit... (plus masih batuk2 terus -- coughing all the way, mungkin perlu ketemu my usual mighty doctor rather than going the second time for the same cough to the office GP / dokter umum).

Anyway, hari ini iseng googling around and find this Tandaku Toko Bagus, lihat bagian buku terbaru (latest book)

(Jadi ini alternatif toko buku online selain Surga Buku yang jual novelku di bagian best-seller).

Sorry for not updating and replying your messages. Been very extremely busy both at work and family life. Temporarily, I am not sure whether my copies here are available for sale :P *ngitung jumlah stock yg terbatas* Coz I still owe some friends and VIPs, plus I want to donate my novel(s) to Spore libraries. So far, NUS library (2 copies) and National Library Singapore (5 copies) have responded :) Awating replies from libraries of NTU (Nanyang Technological University) and SMU (Singapore Management University). If there are other libraries would like to obtain some copies, kindly let me know. Thanks.

Sold out in Batam?

One of my best friends, she works in Batam, told me that last week she was looking for my book in Kharisma Mall. The shop attendant told her that Sakura Bersemi di Yokohama is sold out, they are still waiting for new stocks to be sent over. (I told her, no need to buy, I'll give her an autographed copy once I can afford the time to visit her in Batam coz I'm getting new author's copies, udah diembatin orang2 di rumah sebelum dibawain ke Sg :P Anyway, best friends and anyone whom I owe, will get their shares!)

I'm not sure whether Kharisma, Gramedia, Gunung Agung spread up the distribution thoroughout Indonesia coz my publisher said currently the distribution is only available in Java island (Pulau Jawa) due to expensive postage handling fee??? *pelit amat*

Novel Interview @ RSI + Available in Jogja

First, this Monday morning Mr Harry came out with a time slot for me to do the interview with him (lunch interview) and with Ms Illydea (for a real broadcasted interview) on Tuesday afternoon. After a slight delay and bargaining with my boss, coz I will need to attend a compulsory "lunch-&-learn" on IT security briefing in my company (US IT head comes esp for this) -- so I was not allowed by my go-to Manager to skip it. However, Jeffrey (my go-to Manager) asked me to find a solution... And he's happy with it :)

So I called up Pak Harry, and he greeted me by, "Nggak bisa datang ya?" hahahha... kok langsung nebak gitu sih :P
I answered, "Bisa dimundurin nggak, Pak, waktunya? Jadi jam 2-2.30 gitu?"
And it's very kind of him to delay his lunch time, and reschedule the timing...
I'll bring my camera tomorrow to take photos and post them, OK! (biar blog ini jadi meriah).

At night, my sisters @ Jogja texted me that my novel is now available in Gramedia, Jogja -- displayed as "buku baru" (new book). And they saw a young man bought my novel before their eyes! hehehe :)
